Project Overview
The project "Construction of a New Marine for 350 Yachts in TRNC Cyprus" required the construction of a brand new Marine, which could occupy 350 yachts. This complicated project included a unique excavation of 4-5 meter rock layer. This was achieved by the use of a jack barge, excavators, and underwater demolition with the use of explosives. In total a sum of 45,000 cubic meters of rock was removed.
Main elements of the project
- Construction of a new marina in the north side of Cyprus including 2 breakwaters.
- Construction of main breakwater with length of 850m in water depth of 8.5m.
- Construction of lee breakwater of 250m length.
- Underwater Demolition of rock by explosion (done with divers).
- Dredging Works
- Underwater ground leveling by divers.
- Construction of main key wall made of 40ton concrete T-wall with total length of 1,350m.
- Marine excavation of rocks.
- Installation of caissons (1180ton each) with dimensions of 30m x 11m x 6.5m.
- Installation of more than 3,000 concrete blocks.
