Project Overview

Maagan Marine & Diving Works Ltd. (MAAGAN) Was selected as the main contractor to offload Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) QC (Quay Cranes) & ARMG (Automated Rail Mounted Container Gantry Crane) cranes, which will operate in the new "Bay Port" in Haifa Israel.

The Cranes arrived in several shipments: first shipment of 5 ARMG's and a second shipment containing 2 ARMG's and 4 STS's - in total Maagan Marine & Diving works shall offload 8 STS cranes and 22 RMG cranes.

The RMG's which are designed to move containers within the port were offloaded by Maagan's Personnel & Equipment by installing rails directly from the Vessel and onto the quay. Thereafter, the Cranes were transported to their final position for future operation.

The QC's (also known as STS - ship-to-shore) are some of the largest cranes in the world and the first of their kind in Israel with a height of about 120 meters and a swing arm of about 70 meters long. These cranes are equipped with autonomous control that allows them to be operated by remote control.

Maagan was tasked with all the onshore operational and logistical services and all supplementary works pertaining to the offloading and installation of the new port Cranes.

 

Main Elements of the project

  • Provide all necessary Equipment, Tools & manpower for offloading the cranes from the vessel to the quay.
  • Provide all necessary Equipment, Tools & manpower for shifting the cranes to their designated area.
  • Provide all necessary Equipment, Tools & manpower for transporting the cranes into their final work position.
  • Provide all necessary Equipment, Tools & manpower for reinstating the cranes (installation of all auxiliary component of the cranes.
