Underwater Maintenance of Petroleum & Energy Infrastructures Ltd. (PEI) Plem

Maagan is the contractor responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the Petroleum & Energy Infrastructures Ltd. (PEI) PLEM at Haifa port.

Before offloading any material at the PLEM by the arriving tanker, Maagan conducts a pressure test at the PLEM. The test consists of opening the 12" taps which is safe guarded by a safety screw, and performing a pressure test for 50 minutes to test liquidity and flow of the fuel line. During the test the divers scans the two flexible hoses (Western hose & Eastern hose) to identify if there is an existing leak. At the end of the test, divers close valves by closing the safety screws.

When the tanker begins unloading, divers manually open the fuel flow taps at the tanker terminal to allow flow, and close the taps at the end of the process.
