Project Overview
The project "Reconstruction of the EAST pier at Haifa port", is a project to rehabilitate and strengthen the pier along 964 meters; this, to align it with the original planning and new horizontal forces. The project is constructed from three sections where underwater cleaning of the combination wall, and reinforcment by underwater welding will be done among other works - This Project is being executed in parallel to the port daily activities to avoid any interference to any existing trafic.
Main elements of the project
- Cleaning the existing combination wall by divers.
- Welding reinforcment plates on all the main piles.
- Welding reinforcment plates on all the intermediary piles.
- Excavation and chiseling of the existing capping beam.
- Installation of rebar where needed.
- Deepening the sea wall to -0.5.
- Casting a new capping beam from +2.6 meter to -0.5 meter.
